SWIM & SCUBA CAMP FOR KIDS ONLY


Here at Scuba Dogs we offer two (2) different camps for kids to enjoy! our Open Water Camp and the PADI Seal Team!

Open Water Camp


PADI open water training to learn all basic skills and get certified to explore underwater. This camp is for adults and youth 12+ years of age (10 and 11 year olds who have taken the PADI Seal Team can also take the Open Water Camp) at the Escambrón Marine Park. This program offers the option of the PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Advanced Diver and/or PADI Rescue Diver with First Aid course. In the case of the “Advanced Camp” and “Rescue Camp” camps, it includes an excursion to carry out (2) training dives at the “Crash Boat” beach in Aguadilla. The end date and destination will be determined by your Instructor. 

We do not have buses or chauffeurs to provide transportation.  Thus, this needs to be arranged directly with our tour guides.  If guests have their own car, then the guide rides with them.  If not, then the guide transports guests and gear typically for a goodwill transportation fee of $30pp.

What’s included:

  • Scuba gear rental with BCD, regulator, and tank
  • Direct supervision by a certified PADI Instructor
  • Excellent facilities with stereo system, lockers, showers, restrooms and gift shop
  • Snorkeling gear with mask, snorkel, fins, and weights are not included, but are available for purchase or rent

Requirements:

  • Must be 12+ years. Children between 10-11 years old can take this course, but we recommend first taking the PADI Seal Team program in the pool to help them master their skills before heading out into open water environments.
  • Successfully complete a water skills assessment swimming a distance of 200 meters or snorkeling 300 meters, and be able to float for 10 minutes
  • A medical statement must be signed to confirm that you are in good health, otherwise get a signed physician approval
  • A liability release must be filled and signed by all participants
  • Purchase and complete the PADI educational material 

The camp is offered in two (2) stages:

  1. Aquatic Training: Required swimming and diving practices including skills assessment, equipment setup, confined water training, open water marine training and tours.
  2. Knowledge Development: Theoretical review to cover the required material that includes decompression tables, assignments doing the “Knowledge Reviews” in 5 chapters, videos and final exam.

PADI Seal Team


The best swim and scuba camp for kids 8-14 years old teaching all basic and advanced skills underwater

The PADI Seal Team program teaches responsibility and respect for the aquatic realm. Each student will need their own educational material, known as a Crew-Pak, which includes everything a PADI Seal Team Member needs to prepare for AquaMissions including a fun video, activity book with puzzles, and log book pages to track your adventures; It can be purchased directly at our shop. Complete AquaMissions and become a recognized PADI Seal Team Member. Your experience may also count toward the PADI Open Water Diver course when you’re old enough to participate in the course.

The camp is offered in two (2) stages:

  1. AquaMissions 1 – 5: Covers basic scuba diving skills, such as breathing underwater, clearing a mask of water, recovering a regulator and swimming around experiencing the sensation of being weightless. Each session takes about an hour. 
  2.  Specialty AquaMissions: Includes ten (10) specialty adventures like creature identification, search and recovery diving, skin diving, and many others.

Requirements:

  • Must between 8 and 14 years old
  • A medical statement must be signed to confirm that you are in good health, otherwise get a signed physician approval
  • A liability release must be filled and signed by all participants
  • It is highly recommended to know how to swim and feel comfortable in the water 
  • Purchase and complete the PADI educational material

What’s included:

  • Scuba gear rental with BCD, regulator, and tank
  • Direct supervision by a certified PADI Instructor
  • Excellent facilities with stereo system, lockers, showers, restrooms and gift shop
  • Snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel, fins, and weights) and additional equipment necessary for specialty Aquamissions (dive light, underwater camera) are not included, but are available for purchase or rent

Cancellation Policy:

 

Payment is required to make your reservation; this confirms your commitment with us. Our duty is to coordinate all resources needed to render the best available service; that is our commitment to you. Full refunds are applicable for cancellations notified 48 hours prior to the reservation date. A 50% refund is applicable for cancellations notified 24 hours prior to the reservation date. We do not offer refunds for no-show, cancellations made less than 24 hours, or extreme circumstances on-site that may be life threating like thundering, near drowning scenario, or a “Mayday” call.  Safety is always priority #1.  At Scuba Dogs we strive to be Diver’s Best Friend and we sincerely appreciate your support and understanding.
