We got our PADI open water certification here, and our instructor, the owner Alberto, was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with any difficulties we faced. The water in Escabron Park can sometimes be lower visibility than further out, however, if you’re trying to be certified you must practice in all conditions. The dive site here is still fantastic, we could see 10-15 feet, and I was diving with fish big enough for two people to eat. All the equipment was in great shape and everyone here was very friendly. If you want to be certified in diving, absolutely come here. You’ll have to wake up a bit early, our times were 8 am, but for the more active of you guys, that’s probably not early at all. Breathing underwater via scuba tanks is far easier than breathing through a snorkel because the air is being pushed to you via pressure, while snorkeling you have to pull the air about a foot through your snorkel. If you’re debating between snorkeling and scuba, scuba all the way!
