Guánica, PR – April 8, 2022 – A world-class diving destination is born in Puerto Rico: GUANICAMAZING.
As happens in the symbiotic relationship of marine organisms that complement each other, two 100% Puerto Rican family businesses come together to provide a new tourist offer of marine experiences in the west of the Island.
After two years of planning, preparation and development, past Friday, April 8, the opening of the 3rd Scuba Dogs store, a diving and aquatic safety school since 2000, in the beautiful paradise of Copamarina Beach Resort & Spa in Guánica, culminated. .
“Known as the Town of Friendship, we feel fortunate to be able to offer wonderful nautical and underwater experiences with our new friends from Copamarina,” says Alberto E. Martí Ruiz, owner and instructor of Scuba Dogs. “The reason for our name captures our mission as The Diver’s Best Friend, which is why we fell in love with the opportunity to provide our best service in this great town of friendship,” adds Martí.
For her part, the young professional Alexandra Benus-Villano, General Manager of Copamarina, validates her commitment and enthusiasm with the new offer. “Together we have made a combined investment of over $500,000 in order to provide our guests with the best of the region; our natural resources”. Said investment includes the restoration of the Bazaar and Nautico, the creation of the new Scuba Dogs store, the compressor and sophisticated diving equipment, and two new boats for snorkeling and diving expeditions at all levels.
“We are operating in a paradisiacal place”, highlights the co-owner Elsa Martí Sánchez. “The declaration of the Guánica Dry Forest as a biosphere reserve in 1981 by UNESCO on behalf of the United Nations, recognizes the high ecological value for humanity that includes Punta Ballena, Cayo Aurora (Gilligan’s Island) and other marine resources in the region. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to offer our services here”, highlights Elsa.
The central focus of the business strategy to promote its services revolves around making known locally and internationally the riches that abound here. “We created a nautical chart of the entire southern region of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean Sea under the new GuánicAmazing brand to promote the destination,” says Martí. With average visibility of over 80 feet, healthy corals, a great diversity and abundance of wildlife, and optimal maritime conditions, we want to make it known to the entire world to attract tourism and economic activity to the wonderful town of Guánica and this entire region”, he pointed out. Marti.
On Monday, May 2, the trips and snorkeling, diving and swimming training with Scuba Dogs will formally begin in Copamarina. At the moment the “BE OUR FIRST” offer is available, giving away your selection of a long-sleeved rash guard with the concept of the regions to explore “The Wall”, “The Epicenter” and “Gilligan’s Island” valued at $55 for free for the first 50 people who book to stay at Copamarina with a 10% discount and explore with Scuba Dogs under the “Stay & Dive” offer.
