The course is offered in three (3) stages:
1. Knowledge Development: The theoretical component is critical in becoming an efficient Rescue Diver covering the principles, terms and techniques you need to know to manage and avoid emergencies. Kindly enter here to enroll and complete the theory portion of your course directly with PADI.COM
You will also need to complete the Emergency First Response knowledge development available HERE
2. Open Water Training: Practice handling scenarios such as a leg cramp, managing an unconscious diver, rescue drills from shore, and assisting a tired diver on the surface by role-playing with other students and your Instructor. A total of twelve (12) rescue scenarios are taught and practiced in the five (5) open water dive immersions included in the course. These are shore dives, typically at the Escambrón Marine Park in San Juan where we have our shop with all gear and excellent facilities.
3. Emergency First Response (EFR) Course: Primary and secondary care training teaches you what to do in the critical moments between the moment a life-threatening emergency occurs and when medical services arrive. Learn how to perform CPR, provide first aid that stabilizes your patient and eases pain, assess a variety of injuries and illnesses, practice bandaging and splinting, and more. This is typically conducted in our A/C classroom where we have all the training materials at the Aquatic Dive Center in Guaynabo.
