Feeling a bit rusty after some time without diving? The PADI ReActivate course is the perfect way to get back into diving before jumping into a regular scuba tour. Very reasonably priced, this training will provide you the skills and knowledge you need to continue enjoying safely the sport that you love.
Get back into diving with confidence with the dedicated assistance of our certified PADI professionals and once completed, you’ll receive a replacement certification card with the renewed date to confirm your training update.
TRAINING DETAILS

- Private Training – This is a unique service that we are happy to offer when only one participant has signed up and for customers wanting to receive a higher level of personalized attention with an exclusive PADI Instructor. The price is double, but it will allow you to schedule at your best convenience and optimize the quality of your training.
STEP BY STEP
The training is offered in two (2) stages:
1. Knowledge Development: The theoretical component is critical in reviewing basic topics like how pressure affects your body, planning your immersions, dive industry best practices, and safety standards. It’s divided into modules with a series of videos and a written review to confirm you have a clear understanding. 2. In-Person Training: The training process continues by applying the acquired knowledge in the water with a hands-on skills practice sessions before, during, and after your dive. You’ll learn to assemble the scuba unit, review pre-dive safety check with your buddy, perform basic skills with ease, handle common problems that may arise, and improve critical techniques like mastering your buoyancy control. The training is completed with a fun tour portion to put your skills into practice.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
This experience service includes:
- Excellent Facilities – Gift shop, lockers, restroom, showers, storage, swings, and seating area
- SCUBA Rentals – Top quality BCD jacket, regulator, tanks, and weight belt
- Theory Review – Quick-review quiz and theory discussion on best practices and the science of diving
- Skills Training – Mandatory in-water skills include mask clearing, safe ascends and descends, buoyancy control, emergency procedures like out-of-air procedures, and safety essentials in diving.
- Certified Professionals – PADI Instructors; fully trained and certified
- ReActivate Certification – Processing fee to generate the required digital certificate
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED
Consider the following options for your adventure:
- Swim Wear – Please bring a bathing suit; rash guard or wetsuit is available for purchase or rent
- Snorkeling Gear – As a certified diver, we strongly recommend that you at least have your own mask, snorkel, and fins. If purchased at Scuba Dogs on or before your training day, you will receive a 20% discount on all items purchased. You may also choose to rent for $20 per day.
- Transportation – Rental car, taxi or Uber are recommended
CRITERIA TO JOIN
All participants must meet the following requirements for this service:
- Skills – Scuba diving basic certification or above from an internationally recognized agency (PADI, SSI, NAUI, SDI, TDI, CMAS, RAID, BSAC, GUE)
- Age – Minimum 10 years old
- Guardian Approval – Minors under 18 years old must obtain an adult guardian approval to participate
- Safety First – All participants must be in good health. Kindly fill out and submit this medical waiver to confirm you are safe. If you have a health issue, you are required to see your physician for a medical approval.
- Liability Release – All trainings always have a certain level of risk, thus a liability release must be filled and signed by all participants
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Following are answers to some of the most common questions and concerns:
- What is the ReActivate program? ReActivate is a refresher course designed for certified divers who have been inactive and want to rebuild confidence, update knowledge, and practice essential scuba skills before diving again.
- Who should take this course? Certified divers who haven’t dived in a while, as well as those needing a confidence boost before a dive trip.
- Does the ReActivate include a new certification card? Yes. Upon completion, you receive a ReActivate Recognition Card showing your updated refresher date alongside your highest certification level.
- Is an open water dive required? Not always, but at Scuba Dogs we always include both confined and open water training into the ReActivate training program.
- What equipment do I need? Basic scuba diving certification, logbook with previous dives completed (if available), and your personal snorkeling gear with mask, snorkel, and fins (also available for rent).
- How long does ReActivate stay valid? There is no expiration, but the update date on your card shows you completed recent training, which many dive operators appreciate.
